Jumping rope is a great exercise in small doses. Doing 2 minute intervals 15 times gives you 30mins of cardio. Sound tough? Its really not! its actually kinda fun.
When you jump don’t bend your knees to much, jump when you hear the click of the rope hit the ground. It helps if you look into a mirror or the side of your car because it helps you concentrate in my opinion. Try to get 2 minutes, its ok if you need to stop just get right back into jumping. Take about 30 seconds of rest in between each set depending on your fitness level you may need longer. A good part about jumping rope is not only is it really addictive and fun, but you can do it almost anywhere. going on vacation? No problem just pack your rope and bring it on the road or plane. My vacation workout has jump rope intervals in it. The workout can be very intense if you do it with little or not rest and your vacation workout might be your toughest workout. Wow, how often does that happen. Getting your ass kicked on vacation. But it might be just what you need.
Jumping rope wont only maintain your fitness level but it will also burn more fat if you are a strict runner or biker. This is because the short intervals are intense and you probably wont be used to them unless your a jump pro. Do whats comfortable but go hard, not to hard that you can possibly trip and hurt yourself but hard enough that you get your heart racing.
